embodied liberation

for queer trans nonbinary & neurodivergent folks

feeling into your senses

This is a body-oriented approach to working with trauma and stress by feeling into and noticing the sensations of the body.  By expanding on interoception, proprioception, and body movement we can unlock the activation patterns and rewire the nervous system to be more aligned with your present day.  Mind/body integration will support the nervous system to reset, change stress patterns, decrease chronic conditions, and automatic function to resume, and will expand your capacity to hold your experiences.

It can be hard to live in a body.  Making sense of your experiences and knowing how to make meaning of all of the sensations can feel overwhelming.  What is special about somatic work is that the trail that we follow leads back to you.  There is no gimmick or quick fix to how this works.  You get to experience it yourself.  But it does take practice and dedication.  It’s not the easy path.  It is supposed to feel challenging.  But I am here to support you to find a level of intensity that matches what you are up for.

  • If you are looking for support in navigating the ups and downs of life, living in a body, exploring your gender, or embodying liberation
  • Or maybe you have been on a healing journey for awhile and wanting to integrate the work to really FEEL the difference
  • Or have tried different techniques but you still feel like there is something deeper that you need.
  • Or you are new to somatic work and are ready to learn

I will meet you where you are.

Relational Magic: Healing happens in Community

Hi. My name is Lee and my pronouns are Ze/Zir or They/Them. I’m glad you are here.

Meet your practitioner

As a white, queer, trans, nonbinary, & neurodivergent person, I offer a specialized container for community support. My practice has a liberatory lens and an anti-oppression framework. So often our ‘healing’ is situated within an individualistic space that ignores all of the cultural context of trauma and oppression. I believe that all of our struggles are connected and so is our liberation. To be in a practice of tending our edges is a practice of dedication to showing up for others. I’m holding this space for you to unwind, explore new shapes, and feel into our authenticity and joy.

As a practitioner I have spent the past 13 years dedicated to working directly bodies as a Somatic Bodyworker. For the past 4 years I have been practicing Somatic Experiencing and supporting folks to go deeper with tending to emotional wounds and integrating parts of self as a practice of the embodied life. I am passionate about this work and grateful to be able to spend my time with all of you and go deep into the mystery that is life.

Queer Trans Nonbinary & Neurodivergent centered space

Your whole self is welcome here.  We exist in a world that doesn’t see or acknowledge us.  We become fragmented versions of our self.  We do what we can to protect ourselves even when sometimes that means living in a mask.  And when we come together in community we can unguarded just a little bit more.  Shed some of those experiences that bind us.  And get back to who we are underneath it all.

Affinity space is so vital.  Being born into a world that can not hold the fullness of expansive gender, sexuality, and neuroqueer experience means being subjected to cultural oppression in which we are conditioned to fit into identity molds that can not hold us.  We experience violence against our very nature and to exist we must first survive by contracting and bracing for this reoccurring impact.  As we re-orient to our truth, we untangle those toxic shapes and bound instincts we uncover the authenticity of our true selves that wants to feel free to just BE.

Relational magic is potent.  When we come together we get to step into a flow-state.  There is a set of values we share that augments that space to be dynamic and flexible.  Gender, sexuality, ability, body size, skin color, body hair, status, fashion & all of the ways our body can show up in a space is welcome and celebrated.  When we get to arrive with this as our standard we get to focus on what really calls to us on a deep soul level and not spend energy on bracing and guarding and feeling drained and othered.

Resonance: witnessed, heard, felt, transformed.  When we hold space for being in conversation with our embodied experience we can feel what it’s like to be witnessed without opposition.  We can go beyond identities and labels and words and thoughts (things that are both helpful and limiting) and tap into a wholeness that is beyond definition the felt sense of our embodiment authentically.  We get to re-define what anchors us to our truth so we can move towards how we want to show up.  We get to become the version of our self that hasn’t happened yet – and start feeling it now.  This is the practice of getting free by embodying liberation.

Anti-Racism/Anti-Oppression Statement

I am pro-Palestine and call for an end to the genocide and occupation and return of the land to the Palestinian people. I am aligned with all indigenous and BIPOC struggles. I denounce white supremacy and colonialism and recognise the ways that I am inherently benefiting from them by having a white body and having been born into this system. I recognize that as a practitioner this puts me in a position of power and privilge and that I can cause harm to others especially BIPOC & Indigenous folks. I am committed to engaging with intention and consent, to be accountable to how I show up in space. I am also committed to repair process if a rupture has occurred. As a commitment to anti-oppression work with politicized somatics, I remain active in noticing my edges and the ways that they might prevent me from showing up for others. This space is a haven to all outcasts, radicals, misfits, those who are discriminated against, those whose bodies are othered. I support sex workers and folks who survive despite legal discrimination. This space is centered in queer and trans people. This space is neuro-diverse and welcomes all neurotypes and sensory needs. This space is sex-positive, BDSM & Kink aware, poly-supportive, and non-judgemental of your unique lifestyle.

In Session: A catalyst for growth

This space holds a container for somatic transformation

You arrive – just as you are – and we start with what IS. Together we build a foundation for relational trust and learn what your system might need. We practice ways of orienting our bodies to its environment and to what wants to emerge. We practice tending to the highs and lows and increase capacity to hold our experiences. There is space here to feel hard feelings, talk about hard experiences, speak your truth, and define your wants needs and boundaries. But we always come back to how it feels and see if something wants to emerge.

The practices will reinforce what you are exploring or transforming. We can use the way that our body senses the world through motion or sensation or imagination to dialogue with parts of ourself and invite new shapes to emerge. It is through this change, felt in repetition, that can help us integrate our experiences and invite a felt difference. We might explore some practices during sessions to work with what is you are experiencing. Or there might be invitations to experiences to deepen into the work in between sessions.

In session together we might practice somatic skills, mind/body integration, grounding practices, feel hard things, embodying boundaries, shedding the past, sensing into preference, or reaching towards joy. We start with the body and let it show us where it wants to go next. Overtime, this will transform stress patterns and open the door to new embodied experiences.

What to expect

This is an offering of relational support which means I am here to hold the catalyzing nature of the work. I am here to bring presence to your process to be held and witnessed and to affirm your authenticity. I am not a fixer but I can be a coach and space holder and support you in your process.

This is an experiential practice.  I might invite you to engage in your senses, movement or sound to deepen in the work. We explore how to expand our ability to take in more joy, and allow the patterns that restrict this momentum to shed little by little. Everything is an invitation, and consent is a priority. We will work together to find what will work for you.

Sessions are customized to meet your goals. By expanding on interoception, proprioception, and body movement we can unlock the activation patterns and rewire the nervous system to be more aligned with your present day.  In your sessions we may explore personal content and what you share is up to you. It is not necessary to disclose any story that you don’t want to. We can work with how you are experiencing ‘the now’ and go from there. If there is personal content or trauma experiences that you want to integrate, we approach it one step at a time. We let your system guide how far to go.

I work with people on a weekly basis for the first 3 months, then I offer a biweekly option if desired. Generally folks experience the best results by committing to at least 6 months or more.
